Quantity Surveyors work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure projects are completed within budget and to the required quality standards.
Requirements
Candidates should have experience in cost estimation, quantity surveying, and contract management, with expertise in measuring materials and labor, and handling variations and claims.
Education Requirements
BTECH IN CIVIL ENGINEERING, DIPLOMA IN CIVIL ENGINEERING
Responsibilities
- 1.Understanding the client requirements and quantities take off as per marking.
- 2.Preparing BOQ (bill of quantities) by studying specification sheets.
- 3.Identifying gaps between BOQ and drawings, specifications and conditions of the contract and taking it for a logical closure.
- 4.Monitor and control costs throughout the project, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- 5.Preparing the initial quote and contract in coordination with the design team for analysing architectural and service drawings.
- 6. Manage the valuation of work done and handle claims and variations.
- 7. Preparing interim and final valuations, variations and claims of the construction site.
- 8. Conduct feasibility studies and value engineering exercises.
