The Staff Nurse at SYRUS MM HOSPITAL is responsible for providing high-quality patient care, assisting doctors and medical teams, and ensuring smooth day-to-day nursing operations. The nurse will maintain professional standards of care and ensure patient safety and comfort at all times.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Diploma / B.Sc. in Nursing (GNM or B.Sc. Nursing).
• Valid Nursing Council Registration.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in rotational shifts.

Responsibilities of a Staff Nurse

1. Patient Care

• Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients.
• Monitor and record vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respiration).
• Assess patient condition and report changes to the doctor.
• Assist patients with daily activities (bathing, feeding, mobility).
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.

2. Medication Administration

• Administer medicines as prescribed by the physician.
• Start and maintain IV lines and fluids.
• Monitor patients for side effects or adverse drug reactions.
• Maintain accurate medication records.

3. Clinical Procedures

• Assist doctors during examinations and procedures.
• Perform wound dressing and injections.
• Insert and manage catheters, Ryle’s tubes, and other basic procedures as per training.
• Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control practices.

4. Documentation

• Maintain accurate nursing notes and patient charts.
• Prepare and update nursing care plans.
• Record intake and output charts.
• Complete discharge summaries as required.

5. Emergency Care

• Respond promptly to emergencies.
• Perform CPR and basic life support when required.
• Prepare emergency equipment and medications.

6. Coordination & Communication

• Coordinate with doctors, lab, pharmacy, and other departments.
• Educate patients and families about treatment and home care.
• Participate in nursing handovers and team meetings.

7. Safety & Compliance

• Follow hospital policies and protocols.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Ensure proper biomedical waste disposal.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the ward.
